Mr Trump said it cost 4 billion dollars and he accused the Boeing company of profiteering. A White House spokesman has queried Mr Trump's assertions.

The Boeing Company says it still has full confidence in its airplane`s safety but that out of an abundance of caution, it supports the decision by the U.S. government.
