He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

他叫我们能承当这新约的执事，不是凭着字句，乃是凭着精意。因为那字句是叫人死，精意是叫人活（" 精意" 或作" 圣灵" ）。

In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, " This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me" .

For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
