And speaking of start-ups, let me tell you a story about an entrepreneur who wanted financing for a better designed breast pump.

Then there was the pumping plant for the artesian well, and the big cement tank where Judge Miller's boys took their morning plunge and kept cool in the hot afternoon.

再过去是那间和自流井配套的泵站和一个很大的水泥池子，供米勒法官的孩子们清晨洗澡、下午消暑。

Technology solved many of the problems. New equipment was invented for digging deep wells. Better pumps were built to raise the water to the surface. Some of the pumps used windmills for power.

技术解决了许多问题。人们开发出新设备来挖深井，建造了更好的水泵让水升到地面上，有些水泵可以用风车发电。

So, I'm sharing this story because it represents  to me what The Latitude Project is, whether it is building roofs, latrines, well, pumps that are safe for children, schools, water filters.
